To fit your budget I'd recommend a couple of ADK 51. They´re similar to the original Neuman U87 in some ways, and they sound really good especially for acoustic guitars and vocals. Best of all - they´re not pricey |

Rhythm placement 3,5 Cleanness 4 Feel 5 Posture 5 Sound 4,8 I agree with the others about the timing. But, as Emir said, you have good confidence and attitude - which is great! I also like that you use small finger movements with your fret hand - You show potential to reach extreme speeds, imo. But watch out for playing sloppy. Practice a bit slower and more accurate for a while and keep those small finger movements, and you'll be there in no time! I really enjoyed watching you play this. Great job! Oh, one small thing: The first trill should be on the note D up to E (fret 10 to 12 on the high E-string). |

Hey marcus! I'm practising your Neo-Clas 3-Way solo for beginners. I only have to get some of the bending vibrato a bit better and we're good to go! So, of course I would like the backing. As well, what settings did you use in your modeler? (I have a pod 2, I can't upload pre-sets via pc) Hi Jesse Here's the backing you wanted. Neo_BT_120_bpm.mp3 ( 949.02K ) Number of downloads: 467 ... and here's the basic settings on the POD. If you want you can add delay and reverb, and a little bit of compression. Amp: Spinal Puppet Cab: 2x12 Class A Drive: 80% Bass : 25% Mid: 20% Treble: 80% Presence: 100% Mic: 57 off Axis Stomp: Screamer - Drive: 60% - Gain: 80% - Tone: 60 % QUOTE And, where would you suggest to start in the Neo-classicall world of guitar?Maybe you can suggest a book or dvd? Well, I think you'll find all you need here at GMC But it's also a good idea to listen a lot to the big composers (for example Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, etc. etc.) /Marcus |

Hm.. it looks real with the reverse tremolo and all. But it's still hard to say if it's a fake. As Emir said, ask for the serial number and you can check it on the internet. |

One of the best lesson here at GMC IMHO oh, thanks for your kind words chmilew But shouldn't the lesson difficulty be something more than 4? It seems to contain pretty advanced stuff. Maybe you're right Wabba, but in this case I think it's hard to set the difficult-level because it's a whole song which starts of pretty easy and it gets more and more difficult towards the end. |

I'm sorry, I've totally missed this thread. I apologize for that! Yes, Kris is perfectly right. We used a recording technique which I believe is called re-amping. He basically sent me the dry signal from his guitar, and then I processed that audio file through my PODxt. Here are the two POD presets that we used for both mine and Kris's guitar. Nocturnal_Vision_1.l6t ( 1.84K ) Number of downloads: 330 Nocturnal_Vision_2.l6t ( 1.84K ) Number of downloads: 292 here's the lesson for those of you who missed it http://www.guitarmasterclass.net/solo-guit...-vision-lesson/ |

In my experience it has nothing to do with playing fast. It's just about getting a better grip of the string, which some think is good for the vibrato and bends, since there's no (or very little) resistance Another option is to put XJ frets on the neck, and it will have pretty much the same effect... but it won't look as cool of course |

Congrats Gary! That's a very very nice guitar!! I've got one from 1988, which is his first signature model. But it's quite different compared to this new one. |

Have you tried Trond's preset? (if not, I'm sure he will send it to you). PS. Don't forget that a part of the tone comes from the fingers. |

Good points there Zakk! The louder the guitar is when played dry, the better it will sound when plugged in. I've heard several luthiers say that. |

Even if the frets need to be redone, you can still save money on it. Yes, absolutely! Especially for all those "wanna be luthier's" like myself I've re-fretted a whole neck once... it was not easy, but in the end it turned out great! Only costed about 5 usd, or something like that... |

Just want to add to this discussion that, in my opinion, there’s no real value in buying a brand new guitar. I’ve done it a couple of times but I’ll probably never do it again, because I think a guitar only get better when it’s been played for a few years. Of course we have to watch out for worn frets and stuff like that, but I think second hand is an option everyone should consider. Not just because you’ll get a better price… Well, just my 2 cents… feel free to disagree |
