I had lots of chats and my experience varies. Doing it at same time everyday doesn't necessarily mean that members will show up smile.gif Advertising it on forum couple of hours before also doesn't work well because thread gets lots with new responses in other threads. What I usually do is right before start of chat I make a post in this area about it. Then in next 10-15 minutes I enter it and then go back to thread type once again that chat has just started and provide a link to it. This has shown very effective as I had anywhere from 1 to 12-15 people in the chat.
It all depends on day and time as well as members. I usually see a lot of the same people (which I am very happy - they come and want to learn every time) but I am also thrilled when I see some new people in. Have to say this is rare case and would definitely like more people in chats.
Thats my opinion about it , hope it was helpful to you in some way.

Hi Robert,

I would like to thank you for completing all your work for July. Mixolydian solo was much better now and I enjoyed Sweet child of mine backing, thank you for that.

I would like to wish you best of luck in the future with your guitar playing and studies.

Keep in touch,

Grindguer,

Those were excellent takes considering it was your first time recording them smile.gif I think you played all lessons very good, the only thing worth mentioning is your chords are short (staccato like) so you should work on that.
You only got one more thing to do, pick one of those 3 lessons and submit it for REC grading and you are all set!

Regarding your question, it is pretty much up to you if you want to bar with 1st finger using certain string set. Sometimes I do it , sometimes I don't, depends on what I played before and what I am about to do after smile.gif

Thank you for taking time and studying with me for 3 months. I really hope your MTP experience was great and I want to wish you best of luck in future!

Hi Chandra,

1st thing is this regular time not double time. Tempo is quarter notes and you are playing eight notes mostly some halfs quarters and in some parts 8th note triplets. If you did solo with 16th notes and/or 8th note triplets that would sound like double time.
I suggest slowing down backing and then try to do those rhythms, it will sound much better then it does now.
Yes I am aware, its not perfect melody choice and rhythm but its a start wink.gif

I just recorded one.. Arrg.. I realy don't have the brain to grasp double timing immediately.. It just doesn't come. Probably I will take special lesson from you doing double time. I need to learn phrasing and memorize all of them. Can you teach me? smile.gif I will try one again and post.

Thanks.

Hey Chandra, post that double time recording would like to hear what you don't like so much about it. Thanks.

I think I'm fanning the G string on that chord too. You are right...something sounds off. I'll spend some more time with it. It's a very good exercise.

Cool, glad you noticed it as well! That lesson sounds more like a duo piece, I am very proud of it. It has great melody and harmony with it so in a way it is excellent real life example of chord melody approach. Glad you think its good exercise. Look forward to final version!

Tom this is passing material but I am not thrilled with it as you are not as well smile.gif
I noticed some weird sound on 1st inversion E minor (G E cool.gif on string set 4 2 1, it might be tuning problem (my 1st taught) or you are pressing strings too strings and they are light gauge ?
Overall timing was not perfect, like you said it looks like you are chasing some voicings.
I would pass you on this, give you 8 but since you got more time till the end of the month try to do another one - lets see how that one goes!

Thanks Tom!

Hey Chandra,

Thanks for this post. I have been busy and sick for last 4 days so I didn't check GMC much. I saw how they passed you on REC smile.gif As I said, you played right things but intonation/tuning is big issue in my opinion. I would pass you as well but not with 9, 10 but rather with 8 because of tuning smile.gif

How are you doing with other assignments? We got only couple days left, I hope that you can complete them!

QUOTE (GrindGuer @ Aug 24 2010, 03:45 PM) *
I'll do my best to finish before the deadline.
I need some advice. On the lesson from Stephane Lucarelli, he uses sometimes some hybrid picking. Do you think there is a reason to it ? Is it to make it easier the strings skipping, or is it sound related, or ... ?
Thanks.

Hi Grindguer,

I hope that you are finishing up with the assignments as we are very close to the deadline.
Regarding your questions, hybrid picking is technique great for string skipping and it has specific popping sound especially when you snap string with finger while pick plays normally. It basically gives you different ways how to play the same thing, work on the interval leaps and obtain different dynamic control!
Hope that makes sense man.

I look forward to the assignments,

Pedja
