Hey guys,
For a few days now I feel, not really pain, it doesn't hurt, but "something" I can't really describe, at the base joints of my ring finger (metacarpo-phalangeal joint). I feel that only when I am doing some bending, vibrato. So, I should probably stop playing for a few days but that's really going to be baaaaad for my mood. What do you think ? Does it hurt when you are getting really injured ? But my other question is more here, when you play the guitar, is your hand perfectly parallel to the fretboard ? Or a little bit rotated so the left of the palm is nearer and the right farther ? When I play with my hand completely parallel, I don't "feel" my ring finger joint anymore but it's pretty hard to do bending or vibrato in that position. So I'd like to know what's the best position. Thanks a lot for your answers, |

It's normal to sometimes feel the pain or at least some acquard feeling, this is often because we overdo with something. It wouldn't be normal to keep pushing it at the same pace tho, as this is usually the sign to take it easy for couple of days. Just do some simple stuff, chords, simple melodies, write songs, and it will be OK.

I also think you should give that finger a break and practice something different for a couple of days, so the pain can go away again. If you are in pain you should always take this as a warning, your body is showing you that you are overdoing something or doing soemthing in an improper way.
