> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi again Cael!

Nice to find this lesson here! I honestly didn't remember it! smile.gif

The overall sounds good. Your Sweeping technique is clean and clear here, and the legato is also consistent. I also think that your tone is the right one for this style.

The only element that needs adjustment is your timing. As this backing doesn't include drums, it's trickier to keep the tempo tight, so you'll need to keep your foot tapping or your head to avoid losing the right tempo along the whole take. This issue becomes more notorious from second 14 to 22.

Besides that detail, this is very good. Keep rocking.

well....this is really nice performed. Very close to Gab's take. I will not judge the timing hardly because it's a very specific, non-pulse kind of backing where I belive I would have problems to perfectly match as well smile.gif I can't spot an issue other than timing. Maybe your guitar could be just little more upon the strings, in the mix. Nothing bad to say about the playign itself. Well done

This take did not quite cut it, to my ears.

The main problem being the evenness of the sweeping. It is hard to hear the note separation, and sometimes we can hear one note from the sweep but not the others. Timing as well as sweep technique (= hand sync) is problematic.

Possibly you want to try a slightly cleaner sound as well, to improve note separation.
