> Rules

Here is where the magic happens: the REC board turns bedroom guitarists into real pros. Remember - it doesn't matter if you fail or pass, as long as you keep posting REC takes you will progress.

The entries will be graded by a number of instructors. After grading, members will be accredited with the appropriate points if they pass, and adjustments will be made to their REC level.
Passing grade is 6 or higher.

Hi mate!

Great to find this lesson here! smile.gif The overall is good but here are some elements that need attention:

- There are tuning issues in the first riff/melody. It seems that one of the higher strings is not well tuned.

- Improve the dynamics (accents) mostly in the first riff/melody, but check the whole lesson. Notice how I alternate between softer and really agressive right hand picking to get a more expressive rhythm work.

That's all for this one mate, it's an 8!

You've got a really good handle on your rythm playing. If you have not done so, I'd say it's time to take what you've learned and start writing some of your own Riffs!! You've got all the technique that you need to be able to play just about any riff you can come up with. Please do share your new music! Look forward to hearing it! smile.gif Good sense of timing here as well. Having an ability to keep time is crucial. If one can't keep proper time, one just can't play rythm guitar. It's that simple. Either you have worked a lot with a metronome, played with backings or just have an instinct for it, but either way you have really good timing. It really shows in this REC. You've got this covered!!!

Sounds great!

What caught my ears here was the section starting at 00:29 where Gab's take feels tighter and has more control of the silences/rests. Part of it could be because Gab has mixed his guitar to blend in volume wise with the backing - whereas yours is louder.

Keep up the great work, you get an 8 from me!

Hey there! After watching more of your takes I can honestly say that you already are an advanced player. Most of things we speak about are the details. Details you would be "thrown out" for...from a professional studio smile.gif In general we speak of some tiny lack of tuning precision or timing precision at some runs. Your playing is already impressive but when you want to impress the pro group you need to fix these as well. I also have to agree with Kris that the control of pauses/breaks is better in original take. But remember....these are details. This take is still a piece of great work!
