  • The "All Bluesy Solo" lesson was inspired by George Benson's performance of Mile's Davis' "All Blues" and James Burton's style especially on tracks like "That's Alright Mama." The idea is to take basic jazz/blues style triple stop chords and the then add the thumb on the top technique to include a bass note on the bottom. The solo element also has Benson and Burton elements. The tone however, is more geared towards Benson. I'm using a hollow body guitar in the middle position (both neck and bridge pickups activated) with a clean amp and a bit of spring reverb. The picking technique is also a hybrid style. The chords have a nice melodic thing happening and the solo is based on the Major Pentatonic Scale.
