Blues Comping

HEY GMC!

I've got a new lesson for you and this time we take a look at comping over a 12 bar blues. Often guitarists get comfortable with the blues scale when soloing but lack variation in the accompaniment department, often relying on bar chords or driving 5th chords which can be a bit 'clunky' in an ensemble situation.

So here we look at taking a couple of double stops from the chord shapes to add a lighter comping sound that can be slipped in to our solo's too.

The piece is broken into two 12 bar sections, the first of which focuses on the double stops and then second takes the double stops and weaves them into a solo so you can get a few ideas at how useful these can be to give your solo's a bit more harmonic focus.
