Beautiful Stephane - I love your jazz approach!
Hi GMC'ers! Today's lesson is the first in a series dealing with the chord melody technique.
In this one we are going to learn the chord inversions of the F Major 7th chord.
Once done, we're going to add one note on the highest string of each voicing and play the F major scale. The lesson covers Drop 2 voicings on the four middle and four high strings, and Drop 3 voicings starting on the low E and A strings.
Obviously there are many other voicings for Major 7th type chords, but to know and master all these basic shapes is a good starting point to play chords and melody at the same time.
In this lesson we've got an horizontal view of all the chord inversions, but I also would suggest you to work on a more vertical point of view!
I used the F Major 7th chord and the F Major scale:
F - G - A - Bb - C - D - E
