  • HEY GMC!

Welcome to my new lesson where we take a look at playing fingerstyle patterns with interesting rhythmic groupings to create evolving melodic lines. If you have played travis picking before you will this lesson a lot easier.

The etude looks at using a minim/crotchet pulse and a dotted crotchet melody, this creates an evolving set of combinations in the right hand and interesting pattern development in the overall guitar part. For a bit of fun this grouping is flipped in the B section where we put the dotted crotchet pattern in the bass and the melody part takes on a quaver pulse.

This piece also brings about some fun stretches that should be great for building up finger dexterity/strength

I Hope you have fun with this piece and keep a look out for etude 3 soon!

    Chris
