Wow man, what a tasty groove! Great tone, too!
Great lesson Stephane, love your groove and tone.
Hip-hop is a form of electronic music where DJs took samples of old funk bands and made new songs out of these sampled grooves/riffs. This is what it is all about
Good & useful lesson for my rhythm exercises
Very glad you like the lesson & thanks a lot for the nice comments guys!
i LOVE it stephane, love the tone, the playing, the groove, everything is right, you are one tasty guitar player!
This is a very good exercise in the subtleness of upstroke and downstroke accents and timing. Very nice, man! I really like the way, in these type of lessons that you're making.
Sounds awesome! I love this type of funk!
I like how you connect this kind of rhythm playing with the hip hop genre, it gives it a good impression of the style versatility of the funk rhythm style. Sounds awesome as usual Stephane!
Hi GMC!
Today we gonna play some funk rhythm guitar with a swing feel (or hip-hop feel).
This swing feel is accomplished by delaying the second and fourth 16th of each beat, so your upstrokes should be slightly delayed. Of course the amount of swing can vary from one groove to another.
Start by working slowly with a metronome, scratching all the 16ths notes with your right-hand.
Also try to implement various "degrees" of swing feel.
Have fun & funky practice !
Steph
