Welcome to my new lesson about "Dyads".
What are they? A term that is generally known as "double-stops". Basically it's a two-note chord. They come very handy on electric guitar so that you can play only two notes on your guitar and leave room for other instruments to fill in the remaining notes of the chord.
To help you learn dyads, you should get familiar with the intervals.

The most common shape played on the guitar is the perfect fifth interval. You're probably familiar with this one since it's the basic two note power chord found on many rock and metal tunes and labeled with. for example - A5. In this lesson we will also talk about the other intervals, most commonly used ones - for example perfect 4th. Fourths are somewhat similar in sound quality to fifths- If you take the typical three string power chord shape and omit the bottom root note you are going to get the interval shape of a perfect fourth.

More melodic and colorful dyads that you can play also are Major3rd and Minor 3rd shapes, for example - if we take C major chord (C/E/G), leave out the root C tone, and play only the third and fifth ( E and G ) we will get Major 3rd Dyad!
