  • Hi GMC'ers! In this opportunity we'll see a very famous ballad by Metallica, Nothing Else Matters, from the “Black” Album. This record, perhaps the most known of the band, was released in 1990 and was the factor that helped Metallica to make world tours (Wherever We May Roam tour and Nowhere Else to Roam tour). The “Black” album was the fifth released since “Kill em' all” in 1983 and it was the step between the aesthetic barrer the thrash period (Kill em' all, Ride the lightening, Justice for all) and the more heavy rock records to come (Load, Re-Load).
    On this particular track of the record Michael Kamen took care of the arrangements, most of them string arrangements. I've tried to stick to the original arrangement and you'll hear the strings and all of the guitar fills that are on the record.

    The techniques that you'll have to use to play this song are:

    * Bendings
    * Sliding
    * Fingerpicking
    * Legato

    The original form of this song is:

    Bar
    Intro 1-24
    Verse 25-50
    Chorus 51-58
    Verse 59-66
    Chorus 67-74
    Interlude 68-83
    Verse 84-101
    Chorus 102-113
    Solo 114-124
    Verse 125-133
    Outro 134-143

    Here I leave you also the way you may want to thing the form in order to remember.
    (The numbers indicate the number of times that the part is played).

    Intro
    Verse x3
    Chorus x1
    Verse x1
    Chorus x1
    Interlude
    Verse x2
    Chorus x2
    Solo

    I hope you enjoy the lesson! :)
