  • -Guitar Lesson:
    This time I am going to show you some example of 9 licks to make substitutions over the minor pentatonic scale. All phrases are interpreted over the same Cm11 chord. I use these scales: (I) Cm pentatonic, (V) Gm pentatonic, (II) Dm pentatonic, and these arpeggios: Cm7, Ebmaj7, Gm7, Bbmaj7, Dm7, Fmaj7. You can hear how they all sound good and bring a different color to the improvisation.

    With this method we'll be emphasizing Dorian, Aeolian & Mixolydian sounds.
