Great lesson, mate! I just love drop D, always sounds so groovy. And I like the fact that you choose a lower difficulty level
I've heard it live before!
You really rock, Mate! Awesome lesson!
Sounds very cool!
Nice low difficulty lesson. It presents some basics of this style in a very clear and fundamental manner.
Love those riffs, man!
you are welcome
Actually you can do pinched harmonics on any fret
And thanks for the nice compliments again . . .
This a an awesome lessone Mate..... When I improvise some metal in drod D I almost always use the phrygian mode a bit like you did.... Usually I pinch harmonics on the 3rd fret but it is also pretty nice on the 12th fret.... Thank you for this lesson..
wow. those pinches are amazingly clean, same league as zakk and dimebag, amazing
thefireball,
Thank you for your nice compliment!
Bridge pickup and a little gain makes the pinched harmonic more easy.
Here is a nice lesson of Gerbino I found about pinched harmonics.
https://www.guitarmasterclass.net/ls/pinche...ics_full_etude/
You can clearly see the twisting-motion of the right hand that makes the flesh of your thumb softly toch the string.
You should also find a place on the string where harmonics come out easily (there some)
It's just listening and practice and you will reach your goal . . .
Have fun practicing!
You are soooo good!!! I love those pinches! I can't get those out very easily with my 81/85 EMGs. Perhaps I need to change my picking technique...? I bookmarked this; I can learn it! Just my level! You had me headbangin'!
cool lesson mate!
Thank you guys
love that wyldish pinched!!!
Groovy!
Grrrrreeeat:)
Love those squeals Mate!
Hi everyone !
I wrote this metal piece for my band one of my bands.
It includes a main riff, the verse and chorus part.
This riff is fairly easy to play, but sounds good in my opinion :)
The song starts out in E phrygian with a heavy dropped riff. To make it more heavyer, I've included a pinched harmonic at the end.
The second part is a typical 70's 80's riff, it's fairly easy to play, and it's easy to create a verse part to in.
The chorus part is a simple E minor, but very melodic and it's very easy to create a chorus to it.
This lesson Includes:
Palm muting
Staccato
Zakk Wylde style pinched harmonics, and vibrato
slides
melodic chord playing
I'm in drop D tuning:
D; A; D; G; B; E
Have fun!
