THE PROFESSOR In this bluesy, Peter Green style lesson by Stephane, you can hear and see a chord that you may know about, but not know how to address in your playing, the Dim7 chord. Used as a #IVdim7 in a blues and blues based progressions, this chord can be though to solo over and play at first, but it is a vital sound for any modern guitarist to check out.
Working out Whole-Half Diminished Scales, Dim7 Chords as well as Dim7 Arpeggios for guitar will allow you to have a deeper understanding of the Dim7 sound, how it is built, and how you can address this cool sounding chord in your chord and soloing phrases in this Peter Green, bluesy style.
Welcome to my new lesson, in the style of Peter Green (The Bluesbreakers, Fleetwood Mac, solo albums).
Today it's time for slow Blues phrasing, pentatonic scales, bending technique.
It's basically an 8 bars Blues, with some interesting variations compared to the traditional three chords / 12 bars Blues.
Here's the chord progression (tempo=68)

I A7 / F#m7 I Bm7 / E7 I A7 / D7 I A7 / E7 I
We mainly play the A Major pentatonic scale here, blended with the A minor pentatonic scale.
