  • Hi friends! Dallton here

    In this lesson let's learn a solo made with the phrygian dominant scale. There are several cool things to be learned on this solo such as: triads, chromatic line, symmetry, and functional harmony.

    Here is the progression
    C#7 | % | % | % | % | D7 | % | C#7 |

    Over D7 we are going to scape from the phrygian dominant and use de mixolydian +4. Next, I'll explain why I use the scale when the harmony goes to D7

    Let´s go and hope you enjoy the lesson!

    Main key = G# harmonic minor
    Tuning = Standard
    BPM = 140
    Gear = Ibanez RG Premium 870 / Neural DSP / Cubase / Focusrite
    Solo taken from the song Driven by Felipe Andreoli and Dallton Santos (album Resonance)
