Rammstein Made Easy

Hi GMC!

Welcome to my new lesson in the style of Rammstein, a German industrial metal band formed in 1994 by Till Lindemann, Richard Kruspe, Oliver Riedel, Paul Landers, Christian Lorenz y Christoph Schneider.

Music Style:
Their music is usually described as Industrial Metal but as it's really unique, it's tricky to compare their music or associate it to an specific style. They incorporate sounds from other styles as well as Heavy, Progressive, Alternative, Groove y Gothic Metal. In their most recent albums they started to incorporate more ballads and slow tempo songs and that's what I've decided to cover in this lesson specially composed for beginners.

Tonality, Chord Progression & Scales:
Their music always had that "sad" and "dark" vibe which is generated with the use of minor tonalities. This composition is in D minor key and it's based on major, minor and power chords. The final final riff is based on D minor blues scale.

Techniques:
This is a rhythm lesson so you will find it useful to train your right hand strumming, power chord changes, clean arpeggio patterns, down picking and palm muting riffing.

Sound:
I used LePoin plugins to create the guitar tone. These are free amp emulators that are extremely recommended. The cabinet used for this guitar tone is HyBrit which is a Marshall amp emulation and before it a tube screamer emulation. Check out the settings:





I used Cubase to record audio and midi, superior drummer for drums and Trillian for bass.
