  • Hey Dudes! Next up I present you an exercise with a single guitar without a backing track, a tapping lick pretty much in the style of Joe Satriani (“Day at the Beach” & “Midnight” songs) and other guitarists of the same vibe that always find a place to do this sort of things.

I strongly recommend you all to go and give a listen to Kiko Loureiro (Guitarist of “Angra”) solo debut album “No Gravity”. This one is not only one of my personal favorites at a versatile level, but it has a song called “Tapping Into My Dark Tranquility” where he takes the melody and drives it to different places with plenty of magic! I recommend you to start playing this exercise veeery slow and then as you start to get accustomed to the fingering gradually increase the speed, So you can play it more fluidly.

This exercise is great to keep the rhythmical coordination of both hands as well as to strengthen your fingers in both hands with those Hammer-on’s From Nowhere. Try to feel the tempo with all your your body! If you can tap it with your feet, all the better. But if you feel like challenging yourself, have a go and tap it with both feet, one hit with the right one, then the other hit with the left one. This incredibly helps to disassociate and unlock the body, so this way you can play much more relaxed and confident. It disables the tension of the body! I hope you understand what I mean.

Any doubts that you may have, you can ask me freely!
Good Luck and see ya in the next lesson.
