  • Greetings! Welcome to 'Skip this exercise! #1' It is the first in a series exercises for string skipping and alternate picking. It is consisted of three exercises, which may seem very similar to each other, but actually aim at different problems in your technique (you can always do better ;) )

So, lets start with the first variation:
    a) This is obviously a non-string-skipping variation of the exercise, but comes useful as an appetizer... As you can notice, all three exercises are in dorian mode, but you can use it for practicing any 3-notes per string scale.
    b) Next is a bit harder variant of the first one, this one actually implements string skipping, as promised ;) Now, the thing that you should take notice of in all three exercises is the fingering. Without proper fingering, your fingers may end up in a knot :) and you don't want that.
    c) This is where it gets a bit tough. Now we have a combination of previous two variants, with and without string skipping. But, although you may not notice the pattern in this one, it is actually consisted of sixths intervals, ascending and descending scale.
So, for best results, practice wisely, start with the first, and gradually build up speed, before continuing to the next exercise in this lesson. Oh, and use metronome ;)
    Good luck!
