  • Greetings from Granada, Spain!

Welcome to my new lesson. This is an exercise to play a rock solo using slide (bottleneck) and Drop D tuning.
It is difficult to play clean notes with overdrive, be careful with noises.

    Music Style: 70's ROCK

    Tonality & Chords:
    D Major tonality
    D5, Am7, F5, G5, C5, Bb5 Chords

    Techniques:
In order to play a slide guitar in normal tuning, it is important to make scales with vertical movements. If you play with overdrive then have to take care of noises produced by the slide (bottleneck), I use my right hand palm muting to do it. Remember that sixth strings is tuned to D, when you play a power chord with bass on 6th string, the 4th, 5th and 6th strings are all fretted on the same fret!

    Sound:
I used Engl Amp with Overdrive. The guitar is a classical Gibson Les Paul Gold Deluxe from 1974.
I use the bridge pickup with all tone down.

    Tuning: Drop D: D-A-D-G-B-E

    Tempo: 90 BPM
