Let me show you how I apply the slide bottleneck on the FRETBOARD.
-Guitar Lesson:
In this video, I am not demonstrating technical phrases using the Slide Bottleneck technique. Instead, I am showing you how to apply the CAGED System to the Slide technique. To make it easier to play chords using the Bottleneck technique with a standard tuning guitar, I have drawn vertical boxes on each chord shape. The biggest challenge of using the Bottleneck is getting a clean sound without any extraneous noise from the adjacent strings. This can be achieved by focusing on vertical movements instead of diagonal movements due to the straight shape of the Bottleneck. So, the focus should be on the vertical positions of the chord, not on the phrases. In the phrases, I have incorporated the chord notes (1st, 3rd, and 5th) and added other notes from the pentatonic and mixolydian scales (which are shown in the graphics). I hope you enjoy the video and please don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
