Welcome to my Travis Picking lesson! Travis picking is a style of playing chords with your thumb acting as the bass player and alternating bass notes while your other fingers fill in the gaps. This is a style that was pioneered by Merle Travis and perfected by Chet Atkins. Although the top Travis picking is based on a more complicated fingerpicking movements, it is filled out by some syncopated rhythms with the other fingers usually on the higher strings of the guitar, in this lesson we will learn the basics of this style of playing.

Techniques : Fingerpicking
