  • The "Twangy Tele Solo" is chicken picking piece inspired by one of my favorite telemasters, Danny Gatton. Right from the beginning we play the Gatton signature tone control swell. Another new technique I have not previously covered is the walking bass with interjected chords on top. The tone is classic tele bridge pickup into an overdriven Fender style amp with lots of spring reverb. As with most chicken picking I am using a hybrid picking technique. If you are not comfortable with this technique yet, check out some of my previous videos where I focus on developing the right hand.
