  • Guitar is one of the most expressive musical instruments on the planet. It would be a shame not to take full advantage of the possibilities the strings offer us. Today's lesson will take you through a simple melodic piece using some velocity and vibrato tricks to enhance your playing.

In order to achieve the desired effect, remember that a note can be played in many different ways. Whether it is played soft, loud, with vibrato or not, that is entirely up to you. You should always be in control of your music leading the listener exactly where you want to.

As you go through the following licks, try to play them in different ways using vibrato and different velocities. Hear how they sound and use them to your advantage. Remember to study the offered scale fingerings. We'll be working in the key of A minor.

    Have fun!
