Fernando Sor - Estudio 5

Hi GMC! Here is an excellent exercise for picking, left hand, and right-left hand synchronization. Of course, this is a classical piece by Fernando Sor, but I arranged it so you can play it with your pick.

Start slowly, in order to get used to difficult left hand positions, and also keep try to keep your right hand relaxed, you’ll notice as you play piece, in some faster tempo, your right hand grip will be stronger and stronger. We want to avoid that, so just be conscious of that, and relax your grip.

If you can play this at 200 bpm, congratulations, you have excellent picking, still, try to challenge your self by playing in the faster tempo, o maybe starting with an upstroke! Harmonically, there are many chords(Bm F#7 B Cmaj9 Bm D/F# G Cmaj9 Ebm Bm G BmMaj7 Bm B D G C Ab Bm F#7 Dbdim B G Bb7 A Dbm7 F# E), though they repeat a lot, so we can view it as Bm-F#7 with lots of variations, and in the last, there is strong chord tension releasing in Bm.
