Hi GMC! This time I bring to you some Gypsy Jazz!
In this lesson we'll see some common phrasing in this particular style that many players like Bireli Lagrene, Stochelo Rosenberg or the most known Django Reinhardt developed. The style has a particular difficulty in matter of speed. Most of the time the tempo is very fast and the rhythm guitar remind us to the old dixieland and jazz ensembles where the guitar played in quarter notes all the time.
This style has some particular licks like the way they play the seventh arpeggios (two notes per string) like Tony MacAlpine does it, among other players.
The progression of chords in the rhythm guitar goes: A/C#-B°7-G/B-Bb°7- Am7-A°7- G6-9
