  • Hello GMC!

    - In today's lesson we have a track inspired by the hip-hop/rnb/soul music band Outlandish! Lesson was requested in my instructor board by the member Ulrik. I have listened to the song "Calling you", got inspired and did this little ballad.

    - In this lesson you will learn how to compose a smooth but at the same time busy bass line for a ballad type of backing. You will also learn how to blend in some "exotic" techniques like slap and pop and tapping but with a subtle feeling to enhance the bass track.

    - This lesson is in the key of C major. All notes played will fit the C major scale.

    -Key: C

    -Tempo: 80 bpm

    -Time signature: 4/4

    -Tuning: standard

    -Difficulty: beginner/intermediate

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Am Fender Jazz Bass deluxe, equal mix of both pickups with added bass and middle on onboard preamp - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and flat eq there.

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson's feedback and in my instructor board at the forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun grooving in this one!
