  • Hello GMC!

-In today's lesson we are going to cover a new playing pattern. We have already covered using roots and 5ths to construct a bass line. This time we are going to get a little melodic and add a 6th (or flat 6th) to the story to make a bass line more interesting.

-Backing track will be a old school rock n roll one. This playing pattern was used in so many songs of that time. Its really essential to make a strong sounding bass line that supports the chords well and 6th is a good note choice to make when you want to sound more melodic.

-This lesson is in the key of C major. All notes will belong to C major scale.

    -Key: C
    -Tempo: 130 bpm
    -Time signature: 4/4
    -Tuning: standard
    -Difficulty: beginner

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Am Fender Jazz Bass deluxe, equal mix of both pickups with added bass and middle on onboard preamp - then going to the nemesis (eden) amp with a 1x15" and flat eq there.

Feel free to ask me any questions in the lesson's feedback and in my instructor board at the forum.

Enjoy and I hope you'll have a lot of fun rockin' in this one!
