Hey David, I really like your new lessons, all about phrasing tools!
Very nice concept for a lesson, breathing is very important, it makes playing more fluid. Great job David
Great topic Dave and of course awesome playing!
Cool phrasing Dave
Ah, such a nice tone:) I also agree that breathing is very important, when You do it skillfully You will sound much better, while on the same level of technical skill.
Awesome man, very very cool topic ! Super lesson !
Playing music without breathing is one of the most common mistakes when starting to improvise. Imagine someone speaking to you without any punctuation in his dialogue, it will be hard to follow what he is saying and you will quickly be bored of his speech. It's the same thing while improvising.
In todays lesson, we'll try to create some short lead ideas making sure to leave some key silences in the improvisation to give time to the listener to absorb what you are saying musically.
We'll work in two keys today, E minor pentatonic and F# minor pentatonic. Use your ears when following the chords, sometimes you can make some wrong notes work in there as the backing track is quite open.
