  • Hi there and welcome to the lesson. :) Here we have the Etude in A Minor by Mauro Giuliani (1781 – 1829), Italian guitarist and composer.

The right hand fingering is like in most of the classical pieces, thumb plays bass strings, while index, middle and ring play treble strings (i=3, m=2, r=3). This lesson is useful for right hand finger picking, since this time we do not have arpeggios (t-i-m-r) but we have a pattern t-i-m-i-r-i-m-i, and the walking bass figure t-i-t-i-t-i-t-i. And it's also useful for the left hand, quick chord changes and walking bass figures.

This is etude so basically it has no specific tempo, I played it here 80 bpm but you can play it in any comfortable speed. Start slowly and then increase it gradually to reach 80 and even more, just make sure you have good timing and clear sound of each tone. And also you can play with different accenting to explore various possibilities of this piece.

    Key signature: A Minor
    Time signature: 4/4
    Tempo: 80 bpm
    Notes: 16th

Enjoy in this lesson and let me know if you need any help :)

    Feedback and comments are welcome.

    Cheers

    Dejan
