Hello, everyone, I´m glad to be here to continue with this Fernando Sor's Op9 Series. This variation, like variation 2, is kinda hard to play, so I give you some tips right now:
For right hand I use this fingering m p i mp (m and p plays two strings at the same time), instead of m i a im. Using your thumb here makes things so fast and easier that I didn't give a second thought on it.
We have a lot of position shifting in our left hand, so I suggest you to play every position individually with no tempo between shiftings, you can stay as long as you want before you shift to the next position, we are practicing after all. It is very important that you have both hands in place for every position before you actually start playing them.
Also there is some string dumping, I mostly use the side of my palm (the fleshy part before your thumb), this way I have my thumb free to pluck the second string (check out right hand fingerings). There is a phrase on measure 8 that has an scalar motion over a B chord. It has two open b that we must mute: I use my third finger to mute the first B and then the first finger to mute the second b. Taking advantage that I already have my finger on pressing B on the 5th string I make a barre with 1 to play the F# that goes next.
There are a lot of situations where you can rest a finger on a string to use it as a guide. That possibility is shown in the standart notation score using linking lines as you can see in measure 4.
