Rock Bass Lesson

Hello GMC!
-In today's lesson we are going to Rock 'n' Roll!! The groove we are going to learn is very typical for golden rock era - 50s and 60s.Songs from bands like Chuck Berry,Elvis Presley,The Beatles made this bass line famous.Now we are going back in time to learn a groove that will include many of the licks typical for that era of rock.Remember that this kind of bass line remained strong and its still in use today.

-I composed this little rockin' tune and included different rock licks in it.It will be a very good left hand finger exercise and especially right hand exercise because you will be playing alternating finger picking all the time on different strings and on this tempo it may not be so easy to do.You can use this groove in a song to make it little more old school rock sounding..Also this groove is ideal for jamming with friends..

-Scale used in this lesson is mainly A mixolydian , with some added notes coming from chromatic scale.

-Time signature: 4/4
-Tuning : standard
-Difficulty: beginner/intermediate

Equipment I used for getting this sound was: Peavey Cirrus bass with active soapbar pickups, equal mix of both of them with added treble and middle on onboard eq - then going to the nemesis(eden) amp with a 1x15" and slightly added bass and treble there (at 1 o'clock position).
