  • Hi everyone and welcome to Seawaves lesson! :)

It was last summer, went to sea coast for a weekend, and got inspired by a sound of waves to write this piece. It is an easy one, written in C Major and has no specific tempo. I tried to 'paint a picture' of waves in this way.

There are two major influences on my style which are contrary to each other, firstly the period of Romanticism with the emotional expression (Beethoven, Chopin, Paganini, etc) and secondly the period of Impressionism with the atmosphere (Debussy, Ravel). In this piece I combined these two opposites and here's the result. :)

When playing this piece, try imagining waves and just follow them. For example, speed up a bit when they are approaching a shore, accent when they crush, slow down when retreating. Just try to breath with the waves. Also, I would like to hear your versions uploaded on my board.

I recorded Backing Tracks in three speeds: 50, 70 and 90 bpm, suggest you to practice first with the strict rhythm and when you master it you can play it as you like. :)

    So have fun :)

    Dejan
