  • Hello GMCrs and welcome to my second lesson "Drop-d workout". Today we are going to use drop-d tuning, so you should tune your guitar like this (starting from high e) - E B G D A D. As you can see, low e is tuned 2 semitones down (from e to d). This kind of tuning is nice for riffing, as it allows you to play powerchord only with one-finger barre (we won't do that in this lesson though).

This lesson should imorove your alternate picking, palm muting, pull-offs and pinky strenght. In first part of lesson we are going to mix 16th notes with 16th notes triples played with alternate picking. In second part we will play mostly 16th note triplets using alterante picking combined with pull-offs. In second part you're going to use your pinky a lot and some pain may appear. If that happens, you should make a break and then start again with lower tempo.

In this lesson I provided close shots to both of my hands. If you have any questions about this lesson, post it in lesson's feedback and I'll do my best to help you.

    Take care,
    Kuba
