hey ivan!!!!!!!!!!
perfect, perfect!!!
thanks
Cool funky bits
im definitely learning this
Love it
Hey Ivan -
Spencer from Seattle here. Finally got time on Christmas holiday to sit down and do this lesson.
Having a tuff time nailing that first E9 chord consistently. I guess that comes with practice. The rest of it..very cool stuff. Fun to play.
Happy New Year! Seattle @ 5:47pm
Soo.... funky
I love it! My new favorite lesson.
Hey Ivan... Great lesson man... I love funk rhythm grooves... this is great stuff...
okay thanks man for correction , I appologize for incorrect tabs too all member.
Thank you for the compliment, be consistent and practise and youll get there without even noticing it
I've noticed a slight mistake in the tab for the lick at the end, it should be
E|--(12)---------------------------|
B|---10s-11-10-8-10-8--------------|
G|--------------------9-7~---------|
D|------------------------10-9-7~--|
A|---------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------|
it was just missing the D on the 3rd string, otherwise it was flawless. Gonna take me a while to get to your standard though Ivan
Great one Ivan , I'll just notice that there is "whole lotta rhythm going on" Love the funk!
this is very good Ivan I like jour sound very much and may I ask how jou get it ill play whita tele jd and a blues deville but cant find your smoot clean sound its your secret all respect thanks! ronny
As a matter of fact, in two weeks my funk lesson involving some great progressions for funk will be over. And since a love the funk man, I`ll do it sooner because of the great feedback. More funk (and theory) coming up in 10days Keep on rockin`
This is a great lesson Ivan!!
Just struggling in nailing the E9 from the E7 in the first part of the riff. Just needs more practice!!
Are you going to look at any music theory for funk guitar? Such as typical chord progressions.
Keep up the good work, look forward to the next one.
That is right man, you are doing it properly. You must mute it with your left hand while sliding. Only a small touch will do.
More funky grooves coming up soon, and a faster ones too
Thanks for the input. When muting the G - are you doing that with your left hand as you slide down the neck to hit the E5 on the 7th fret or with your palm of your right hand?
I've been practicing this lesson all weekend! I really am enjoying it although I cannot play it properly yet. I'm going to keep at it though until I can!
You are correct Gerald, open D&G are played up, then open D down and then up on the E5 on the 7th fret. ( try muting the G when going up to the E5 since it tends to ring ).
Yes it is played right after the open E, although I think you are reffering to an A5 (E&A - second fret of D&G).
Again correct, I pick them all, and maybe do a little 1/4 bluesy bend on the G, but that`s up to you. You can play it with for example with only a pulloff or something, the choise is yours - whatever do you like best and find interesting.
No problem, glad to help
Ivan - when playing the open strings are they done with a up on the D&G, then a down on the D, then an up on the E5 power cord?
Also is the first E5 that is played on the D&G (freted at 2), played right after the open E?
Lastly, are you picking the first 3 notes or hammering on / pulling off the 3b and open E?
thanks!
- Gerald
Thank you very much
Reall cool sound to this one:)
Hi Ivan - only just hooked my speakers up and listened to this - awesome first lesson, really cook funky vibe!
great 1st lesson!!! I love the funk
and you doing it great!
Sure thing man glad you like it. I`ll get to my new funk lesson right away.
Welcome Ivan! I love jamming like this when I'm all alone, but lately I've been very stale playing the same riffs over and over... and over. This opens up loads of new possibilities. Keep 'em coming, please!
Kiz

Hey Welcome Ivan
great lesson, i'm anxious to see more Funk lessons !
all the best !
nice riff of funk milenkovic and welcome to GMC
What part in particular are you having trouble with? I`m shure it`s not a big deal. Can I help somehow maybe?
This is a sweet lesson! I'm having problems getting the first part of it down though. I can't seem to get the open ringing of the strings to sound right. However I must admit I'm playing this really slowly to get it down b/c I don't quite have the right hand control yet.
[quote]Now thats what I call funky, nice job biggrin.gif[\quote]
