  • Hi guys Joe here, today's lesson is a fast driving rock composition, mainly rhythm guitar, with a small solo in the end, I hope you enjoy it.

    Pumping Rock - E minor 160 bpm
    ------------------------------

The lesson concentrate on the use of palm muting and open string in a creative way, building a three part mini song:

A] rhythm riff that mixes open strings and power chords

B] rhythm riff mainly on open strings and single note

C] a short solo Based on double stops and pentatonic sequences

    Techniques Focus
    ----------------

Most of the rhythm parts, even is quite fast, are played all with down strokes, to get an organic "pumping" sound. You have to practice this slow and relax your wrist, building up stamina until you reach the full speed. Practice the three different parts separately, it's a goo idea too.

    Theory Focus
    ------------

Actually a double stop is a diad (two notes interval) played simultaneously, that on staff looks like, you guess it a double stop.

    Pro Tips
    --------

The study begins with some slide at the 7th fret, slide power chords can be difficult in the begin: the secret is apply not to much pressure before slide the two-notes power chord shape!

    Keep Rocking
