  • Hay Gmc:ers! This lesson uses Drop B tuning on a 7 string in the style of SEVENDUST. The focus is on chunky rhythms, stereo guitar riffs, octave parts and quirky bends.

    Tuning for the lesson from low to high: B F# B E G# C# C#

Don't worry if you don't have a 7 string you can still use your 6 string for this lesson, just without the extra high C#.

I used my 7 string for this lesson because it is setup for really low tunings like drop B and drop A. I use the extra high C# as a 12 string guitar effect. Works really cool for chords, so if you have a 7 string try it out! I have added rhythm guitar chords for this purpose. See lick 4 and 5

SEVENDUST use 6 string guitars and generally use drop B tuning.

Guitar tone should be very dry. No reverb and gain/distortion set to around half.
    String gauge i used:
    0.10-0.52 with an extra 0.10

The backing tracks include guitar 2 panned down the centre for you to play with at different tempos.

Tempo is 123 BPM in 4/4

    Rockin'
