Don't you know the thrash metal band Testament? For example their song "Souls of Black". Listen to it and I hope you hear what I mean
Testament?? thank you Dexxter!
The riff in video 3
I saw this a very long time ago, when it was published Cool riffs Gabriel, reminds me of some of Testaments stuff
Awesome... I love Kyuss and this exactly what I was looking for.
Thank you! I also love this rocker style!
"It was your sabbath style lesson that made me pay for this site. So worth it."

Stoner rock is the lollipop! This lesson is great, thanks!

This has to be one of my favourite riffs of all time, thanks Gabriel.
Hello Gabriel, Iam new here to guitarmasterclass and this rocks!! I love bands like Sabbath, Kyuss, Electric Wizard++
It was your sabbath style lesson that made me pay for this site. So worth it.
Good job!
Thanks! Sabbath is the main influence of this style.
These stoner lessons are excellent!
That just has COOLNESS dripping off it.
I love the power chord riff. To me it's sounds pretty sabbath, maybe that's cos I love sabbath though. lol
hey gaby!!!great lesson!!!nice job!!!thanks
Roller stoner!
I love Kyuss, Blues For The Red Sun kicks ass.
Great stuff - sounds more like Deep Purple than Sabbath to me.
One question I have is when I play a three note per string A minor scale starting on the low E string 5th fret when it's only a 4 fret stretch I play index finger, 3rd finger, pinky, repeat that on the A string but when I move down to the D, G and B strings when it's a 5 fret stretch I play index, middle finger then pinky. I suppose what I'm asking is should I play the E and A strings using the middle finger rather than the 3rd finger? Hope you understand what I'm asking. I can work with what I'm doing but I wondered if I should be changing?
Seems the 130 bpm backing track has the actual playing with it ?¿
Thanks The levy! La mayoria de las lecciones las compongo exclusivamente para GMC y algunas otras son de mis proyectos musicales, Cirse y Digital Fear.
gabriel.
pd: Thanks gemaux. I'll fix it.
Another great lesson Gabriel. De donde sacas esos riff? They are so cool!
Hey Gabe,
Looks like on video #3 the bend is done on fret7, but on the notatation it says 5br.Man, I wish I had known about this site a long long time ago. Later!
Hi germaux! Do you mean how many time I have been playing the guitar?
I have been played the guitar for 14 years.
gabriel.-
Hey Gabe, man, you're really good. I dig your lessons. I'm just a little curious. How long have you been shredding the ax, man? All your life? Later!
Hi Rolls! I use this one: Down 15B, Down 12 Up 12 Down 12
gabriel.-
Sorry, the previous post I meant the fourth video...
Awesome lesson!! The rock lessons keep getting better and better.
Any advice on the best picking pattern for the first two bars of the third video? I'm having trouble getting it to sound right.
Ex.
Down 15B, Down 12 Up 12 Down 12
or
Down 15B, Up 12, Down 12, Up 12
Hi! it means tied note.
gabriel.-
btw what does "L" means? sorry for my ignorance.
Sweet sound. tnx a lot
it was just a joke because I know that many Corrosion of Conformity fans don't like The Rolling Stones . I used to listen to them when I was 11. I saw them live in Argentina and it was good. They have done great rock songs and they are one of the most important rock bands of all times.
gabriel.-
Great lesson except for this comment.
"Don’t worry! It’s not a Rolling Stones style lesson! "
There shall be no negative comments about the greatest Rock & Roll band of all time(Insert smiley face here)
Not sure how to do that. haha
I would love to see Keith Richards or Mick Taylor style lesson.
praises for that lessons! thanks gab
can't stop playin' that riff
cheers
There isn't a secret. It's the same equipment than the other lessons. Gibson les paul and Marshall mod.8080. The difference is that I play all the lesson with my fret pick up. I tried to emulate that sound adding more exaggerated vibrato.
But it's true that the fuzz pedal is the sound of Stoner.
Gabe, what sort of equipment are you using to get your sound in this one,
It sounds a bit like a fuzz pedal?
Thank you very much guys!
Otto: The blue note is a passing note added to the pentatonic minor scale and it's technical name is b5 (flattened 5th). This note is used commonly in blues but can be added as a passing note in every style. When the blue note is added to the minor pentatonic scale it's also called "blues scale".
gabriel.-
Cool Stuff, Love it!
btw what are those blue notes?
Very impressive Gabriel! I find it really inspiring to follow all the new styles you present - analyse what rhythms, phrases and harmonies create the actual style...! keep up the awesome work!
Without any offense to other teachers here, you are my favorite teacher.
Oh man this is an awesome lesson its just what I have been waiting for.
Hey! Thanks for the nice comments! I'm working in more rock lessons... .
L means "tied note".
gabriel.-
This is the first time I've run into an "L" in the tab, is this referring to Legato??
Loved that Gabriel, great job - me BIG early Sabs fan . D
