Hello GMC! Today I recorded a new Stoner Rock Lesson. I hope that you remember the thing we’ve talked about that amazing style in the first lesson. In this one the main difference is that I used a different tuning called Dropped D. This means that you tune your low E string to D (one tone) and keep the other string in 440 standard tuning. This tuning makes you get a lower and heavier sound that is one of the most important Stoner’s qualities. You will find the main difference when you play power chords because you can play them only with a bare. Many rock, heavy and trash bands use this tuning so I think that it would be very helpful to get into it and to compose your own riffs and songs using it.
As you could hear in the lesson I recorded two guitars, one in the backing track and one played live in the video. You can find both guitars in the guitar pro file to analyze them and to play with a guitarist friend.
