  • Hello Everybody! Welcome to yet another shred solo, I hope you are not getting tired of these, what happens is that lately I have been practicing a lot of shred for the dean shredder contest, and have decided to share this with you. This is the first part of what I played for in my Dean Shredder contest entry.

The solo is in the key of E minor, and was developed over a old solo I used to play with my old band Demolicion, but I have made it longer and a little faster. The tempo is 220 bpm and I am playing 16th notes, the 16th note runs I do here are quite long and are played with Alternate picking, this should help you develop stamina when fast runs with alternate picking.

I have thrown in here some of my craziest left hand stretches although played only at 8th triplets, it presents the challenge of reaching frets that are far away.

Another thing that this lesson should provide is a few patterns that are arranged to be played in 16th notes even though we are playing the scale with the typical 3 notes per string shape. This is sometimes hard to get used to, practice slow and try to get used to it.
