This is an exercise I have been looking for. I need a lot of work on moving to different strings and this is great for that. Gonna practice till my fingers bleed!!!!
Thanks for lighting the flame again mate, the teachers on here like yourself are inspirational.
cool
This is truly a great picking exercise Muris!
For me it seems like the method I use on my right hand isn't really working when I try to play higher than 110 bpm. Is there a specific technique you use in order to get the right hand to follow up while playing 120 and higher?
Reminds a bit of Jason Becker, excellent
very well thought to work on alternate picking
Glad you like it!
This is an exellent picking excerice Muris but also very good for timing: You cannot sing here one two three four because the first note of the four 16th notes is not always the highest or lowest pitch so you just have to concentrate on the beat and not on the melody...this is excellent training...So I think you should never sing notes 1234 just stay on the same pitch or exercises like this will be very difficult for you if you get used to it...
Cheers Pedja!
Very cool lesson Muris - provides proper alternate warm up technique
Glad you like the lesson,
Welcome to GMC and practice hard!
Amazing lesson, Muris. I can't even play it close to speed yet, but God willing, I WILL!! Excellent way to work the right hand. Thanks a lot, your my fave teacher on here because of lessons like this one.
Cheers mate!
loving this one!!
Thanks,I'm glad you've found it useful.
..Awesome, very cool sounding, and really helpful lesson for sure!
Well mostly it's 16th notes all the time,
which is 4 notes per beat.
And at the end we have some 16th trilpets as well,
that is 6 notes per beat.
Hi Muris
I have problems to
calculate baeat on my mind.
How should i calc?
Thanks Pake
Thanks for a good lesson
It is really good alternate picking
exercise. Im not fast enough yet but
lets practice practice....
Take some rest if it hurt and try it in a while,
last thing you wanna do is to injure yourself!!!
As for beats, easier way is to have 8ths(even 16ths) clicking cause you'll have less
silence between the notes and it's easier to follow tempo.
Try it like that till you get comfortable with the speed you're aiming at
and then set 4ths as licks, will be more difficult cause you'll
take a small role as a metronome but it will improve your tempo A LOT.
Great:O Wow.. my wrist hurts now.. Maybe a silly question: If I use the metronome.. what beat should I use ? just tick tick tick tick tick etc.. or tack tick tick tack tick tick tack tick tick, like an accent?
That's an honor,
welcome and have fun playing!
Hi Muris!
your alternative workout lesson is the reason why i joined here!
keep up making this awesome lessons!!!
thanx!
lol, eating my guitar
Thanks Chris,glad you like it.
awesome lesson muris. great both hands workout!
No,it's not hard work at all,it's just mouse work.
WOW, how did you manage to let your synth. play the harmonization. Is'nt it hardwork?
Anyway great lesson !!
Glad you joined,welcome the site!
Im new muris, I decided to check out this site because of kris's lessons on ultimate guitar. While browsing around a stumbled upon this lesson and joined with out a second thought, Awsome lesson man!
You're welcome.
Oh man this is soo hard once you gotten used to 2 string sweep!! gonna practice this alot, nice lesson Muris
Thanks Fox.
Yeah,it breaks habit a bit BUT it also improves your picking,
just go for it and let me know if you need any help at all.
correction = triplet...but you knew what i meant! Great lesson, and I will continue to practice to break the habit!
Great lesson! Wow, it's so difficult NOT to SWEEP to adjacent strings (from the third note of the triad back to the first)! It seems to go against my nature to do so!
That's awesome,glad you joined,have fun here!
This is a really interesting lesson to learn! Thanks Muris.BTW,I watched this video as a free sample and then i decided to pay for the membership.

the color of your shirt matches great with your guitar, great lesson muris thanks
Very nice exercise! I love the backing track Muris.
It reminds me of some of the cartoons I used to watch in France. Japanese cartoons.

You're welcome guys,glad it help!!
Thanks man! This is great will help me get the Extreme Neo-Classical 16th trips faster. Finished the leason (Extreme Neo) and can play at 90bpm, but the 16th trips get me (think it is the alternate picking at that speed). I will get better.
Thanks again
Thanks, from this AP junkie -)
Many thanks guys!
I truly hope that this one is gonna help you to improve your picking,
let me know if you need any help.
Wow Muris how do you just keep doing just one great thing after another day after day....fantastic
Muris, I feel that isolated technique practice lessons are equally important as mixed technique lessons. You created an excellent workout that sounds great! Thank you for such a nice sounding composition.

Gabriel, yeah, that is synth,I wanted to do it with guitar tho
but it would be impossible to have it in all backing track,
stretching would be too heavy I guess.
This sounds really really good Muris
Nice 1 !
Great workout Muris!
Sounds great! I really enjoyed the second guitar work (harmonizations). But it sounds like with an effect, doen't it? Sounds like a synth...
