siddell
hey david!!!!!!!!
perfect!!!!!!!
thanks
Thanks David. An inspiring track. This lesson precipitated my return to playing the guitar after a break of 20 years! Rock on!
Fixed it myself actually, it turned out that it was a combination of my tuning being way off, and my grip, I find I do SIGNIFIGANTLY better with my left thumb pressed against the back of the fretboard for leverage to really send that pinky down.
Awesome beginner's piece for those that want to learn to shred. A real confidence builder for those of us as newb as me who didn't even know what a fret was until we pressed play.
Thanks for a great lesson David
Hi guys I'm new, so please bear with me,
I'm a complete beginner, and in fact tonight was my first night ever touching a guitar, I've spent about 2 and a half hours, and have gotten the rythm, and my speed is improving (slightly, haha) but I need some advice.
My pull off is signifigantly louder than my hammer on w/ my left pinky. I've tried to adjust the pressure I exert during my initial hammer on and pull off, but it still seems really difficult for me to get the same volume out of that last hammer on. Is it something I need to do with my amp or am I maybe out of tune, or am I still just doing the pull off way to hard? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have my fingers starting like this:
Left Index on fret 5
Left Pinky on fret 8
Right on fret 12
The only problem I seem to be having is my Left pinky on fret 12. Instead of just simply moving it strait up I end up pulling off like I do with my right finger that is on fret 12. Any ideas how to prevent this?
Nighthawk: "Hey David thx for that lesson, very inspiring! I have a basic question about tapping, as you and apparrently all other instructors with GMC do a "downstroke" pull-off after tapping the note with the finger. My former guitar intructor told me it didn't really matter which way you pull-off if you kept the strings quiet. Personally, I can do tapping much more faster if I do those upstroke pull-offs. I just wondered why no one else does it that way....i can also keep the strings quiet...What do you think ? thanks very much for your answer"
Sorry for the late answer...
That's a good question! I never really thought about it. I don't think it matters as long as it's comnforrtable and clean.
Any thoughts guys?
this rocks.
i done it once and got it down the first time i learned it:D
well that is because i do tapping in everything i do so this wasnt hard,
but it was melodic and it made me nearly comes to tears cos it was so good and so full of soul and energy!
these lessons rock!
these help me so much with the program i set myself:D
thanks dave:D

This one helped my tapping alot:) and it made my pointing finger on my frethand hurt cause of the stretch from 1-5;) But that´s a good thing right?
thanks David:)
