  • In this lesson, I'll answer one of your request and discuss one of the most melodic bands in today's music: Radiohead.

    For this lesson, I decided to focus more on how you can create some ambient chord progression in the style of that band. To do so, we'll try to avoid over thinking about theory and scales to just play what your inner ear tells you to. There are no real rules here but common sense.

    A few things to keep in mind while composing are to stick to simple melodies that you can remember and and try to use common notes. What I mean by that is that when playing two consecutive chords, try to see if you can keep some common notes in those two chords. Repetition is key to beautiful musical pieces.
