Let me answer both questions here.
shideru_guitar: The chords are made by taking the root, 3rd, 5th and 7th notes of the scale. Doing so starting from every 7 notes of the mode will give you 7 arpeggios that if used over the bass of the mode will give you the color of the entire mode.
widjayy: You are right, tha 6th is what makes a Dorian mode Dorian... I do use that note quite a bit in the lead. Can you find it? :-)- widjayy7th September 2008

Great sound, but... a question.
The characteristic note of the dorian mode is the 6th, isn't it? So, in your main arpeggio chord (Gm7), where's the 6th: E?

In today's lesson, we'll study the seven arpeggios found in the scale of G Dorian.
The concept is very simple. We'll take the seven notes of G Dorian, and build 4 notes arpeggios over these seven roots.
Here is what we'll find:
G min7
A min7
Bb Maj7
C 7
D min7
E min7 (b5)
F Maj7
Playing with these arpeggios will sound very melodic and highlight all the important notes of the mode.
