Hi all.

Well this is a little lesson on a great Irish guitar player, Gary Moore. Moore is huge in Europe but I don't think he's as well known in the states as far as I know.

This lesson is aimed at his Rocky/Blues style and features a couple of his typical runs and bends. He mixes the Bluesy type and Rock bends very well. He's a real emotional style of player with a flair for high speed theatrics! A rare enough combination I reckon.

Over the years he's covered Blues, Rock, Heavy, 80s Power Ballads, Rock-Blues and probably a few others too. He's also hit the charts a few times over the decades, and probably two of his best known tunes would be Parisienne Walkways and Still Got the Blues - two faves of my own I have to say, and absolutely brilliant to play live and let rip.

Actually I was lucky enough to meet him a few years ago at a gig. I was playing in a Blues-Rock band at the time, and our drummer was Brian Downey from the great Thin Lizzy. Moore came to see Brian one night at one of our gigs because he was in Dublin that night. He even got up later and done a few numbers and we had a late night session after the gig. A great experience it was and the hangover was pretty happening next day :).

But how and ever here we are looking at a slow Rock ballad and putting on a few Bluesy bends, Chromatic licks and whatever else fits the bill.

Hope you enjoy the lesson and pick up some useful stuff from it - cheerz,

David.
