Hello GuitarMasterFriends! In this lesson I play some riffs and a tapping solo inspired by the great band Symphony X! I'm so happy 'cos it is a great band and I learned a lot doing this lesson. I wish the same for all of you, of course ;)

Symphony X:
Well, let's talk about Symphony X. This a power-progressive-neoclasical band with the guitar master Michael Romeo, a really talented guitarrist that has an amazing technique. You can find a lot of information in their website: http://www.symphonyx.com/ where you can find for instance videoclips, audio or tabs :D

Technique:
In this lesson you can find some alternate picking riffs, with a bit of legato, tapping arpegios with string skipping and unregular patterns, and lots of metal sounds !!! :D

Theory:
I use Alocrian scale and a diminished arpegio. Remember this structures:

LOCRIAN: 1,b2,b3,4,b5,b6,b7
DIMINISHED ARPEGIO: 1,b3,b5,bb7

Recomendations:
As always play this exercice slow and incresing gradualy the tempo. You can mute the strings when you play the tap part (I will explain some techniques to mute strings using only your fingers in a future lesson, hehe, now we can use a piece of cloth for example).
