PG! EAT YOUR HEART OUT!
I know,I made small confusion and here's the explanation.
I was tuned down one whole step, and so I was fretting/playing notes of A major scale
but note/pitch wise it was G major, that's all.
Hey, great job Muris i love your sound-
I'm just curious, what do you mean G(A) Major Scale? Isn't that one just a A Major? I know this is a dumb question that isn't all too important, but i don't want to miss out on anything.
Thanks.
Main thing is to set a goal and go for it,no rush tho and do it wisely,
ask if you need any help at all.
Wonderful...pretty out of reach so far though :-(
This is as valuable as any lesson on GMC in terms of developing technique. Not sure when I will hit 150 like Muris, may be some time, but it is coming along, I work on this most every day some. This lesson really teaches the fingers to move independently, they have to to play it well.
Thanks Carlos!
nice lesson Muris!!!!
excellent!!!!
Thanks Frank.
Excellent lesson Muris ! I think I’m going to take my guitar downtown legally get married with it .Actually this lesson is not hard to learn. Only is hard to do.
Well, you might have an issue with YJM if you do that
Can i call you a guitar God Muris?
Good one,I really have NO idea
Hey Muris any reason in particular you went for the left leg in this lesson?- really enjoying this one btw
Thanks
Appreciate it,thanks
Lovin the lesson, Thanks Muris! A great workout as well, pheww..
Now that the video is working, I've just got to say that this is freakin awesome. Have to learn it.
Glad you like it,cheers
sweeeeeeeeet...loved the first one, gonna start taking a crack at this. Need to work on my string skipping skills as well. Thanx Muris!
Outside or inside?
You mean downstroke or upstroke I guess
Every section here start with downstroke.
It's well measured so you shouldn't have much trouble, picking logic wise.
And I don't know how is this in cohesion with Paul's technique tho.
Great lesson! I Recently bought the Get Out Of My Yard instructionnal DVD and this lesson is really in cohesion with the stuff Paul explains in the Arpeggio apendix.
I just have a small question. On the section 2, when doing the G scale, do you pick from the inside or the outside? I find it really hard to string skip when playing from the inside (I tend to hit the string in the middle), but also really hard to string skip fast enough from the outside.
Welcome to GMC,glad you joined.
Be sure to check out forum as well, awesome place to hang out.
just signed up and this is the first lesson, inspiring and enjoyable..
Looking forward to it Fkalich.
All I'm saying is that you'll be able to play more different stuff if you're moving thumb around,
you can do muting with thumb, play some notes with thumb,
use it to have strong and powerful vibrato etc.
Whoops, did it again. At some point, when I figure I have perfected a song, and I mean perfected, I will do a youtube and show that you can have all those things and do as I do. And there are advantages, very significant ones. Mostly I wanted to play a Les Paul and still shred, so I adapted my technique in an unconventional way. But to the point, great lesson, was waiting for one like this for a long time. Have learned it, now need to get it to 150 and clean as you do. I listened to you slow, and you hit note groups precisely, which is what I strive for as a student of guitar.
I appreciate your thumb position but it's not great to have it there ALL the time imho.
You can't have nice grip, bending, vibrato etc.
Also, you can transpose note from A string 19th fret to D string 14th and you'll see what happens,
bare just isn't working here that nicely.
Try to move your thumb more up sometimes, with or without this lesson, my advice.
Whoops, hit comment button early. I was not clear. I mean I keep my thumb low on back of the neck up there, always. Not many do that, but some do. Classical style. You will see that for those people, convoluted to try it the way you say. I will say you are one of my three favorite teachers, in no particular order.
No thumb here Fkalich, ring finger on 19th fret on A string, pinky on 18th fret on G string.
You can try with pinky on A string as well but not so easy to move it that fast on high tempos.
Glad you like the lesson tho, thanks.
I am referring to Em/D above. For the other chords it makes sense. Play it with your thumb on the back of neck rather than the top, and you will see what I am talking about. I have seen this other times, a fingering seemed to not make sense, and then I realize why it does not for me, because I don't cradle the neck.
The fingering in section 4 only makes sense if you cradle the neck. If you don't (and I never do) it makes no sense, you play the high note with the pinkie. BTW, great lesson, top 10 all time GMC me thinks.
Holy c***,it IS missing!!!
Thanks for input, gonna fix it ASAP!
Awesome lesson. Way beyond me but awesome. One question however. Is there a note missing in your scale diagram on 15th fret on the B string or am I being silly?
Wow!
Thats' fast and furious, yet melodic. Excellent job bro!
Thanks Ryan,give it a try.
Wow... very nicely done Muris. I feel im still a few month away from being ready to play this but I will try soon. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

Thanks a lot guys, glad you like it!!
@ Eat-Sleep-andJam :
Maybe this PG lesson is a bit harder than a first one
cause you have to play 16th at 150bpm all the time,no stopping.
But it depends of player as well, who knows.
im not gonna even try 2 do this
brilliant!!

Really cool lesson, i ve been waiting for it !
Thanks
This is so cool, thanks Muris, you nailed it... again
Your Awesome Muris This one seems easier then the other ? Yes, No ?
Cool, sounds a bit like Racer X.
Sorry, I missed you tuning a whole step down, My note names in the above post are not correct. I it should be minor third and major third instead of b5/5.
Wow that's some great playing Muris, you continue to impress with great lessons. Although I hate to be the one to point it out, it seems you missed a note in video 2 when you play it up to speed, You played a G (flat 5th) instead of a G# (fifth) in the D Major arpeggio. That's what it sounds like at least, and you didn't play it that way slow.
Scarified Again!
Just Superb!!!!
Insane cool licks!
wow- some great PG inspired licks there! This lesson realy is mad, my speakers almost caught fire cause of your alternate picking
Thanks Muris!
Yes! Muris, that blew me away. Excellent, I will learn this, although my pace is about 1/3 that speed.
