Tx Macrus for this... needed this.
Thanks Marcus, just finished playing the entire #1, although not so fast. I will be playing this at least twice a day, including warm ups of course.
Thank you for that lesson !
By the way my daughter loves Blind Guardian
and i can do every day warming up with you hahaha GREAT !
Maybe she gets inspired now to learn playing guitar !
All the Best !
Dieter
I have been a slacker and pretty much never been one to do a warm-up beforehand. I just assumed the god-given ability would just fall from on high. Well thanks to this lesson, I am looking to mend my ways. This will become part of my regular routine along with variations as needed.
Many thanks for this.
This is a good workout style for any player. The most simplistic of matters often tend to be the most beneficial in the overall scheme of things...
Great lesson Marcus.
And welcome to GMC. (I know I'm a bit late lol)
Zomg we have a celebrity on GMC:D i think its cool that they bring in famous guitarists! haha Kris should bring in dave murray^^
Thanks for this
Verdammt noch mal, ich will die Gitarre!!! In schwarz UND in weiß am besten. Die ist einfach nur geil.
Hey, it is not important to warm up "with me", as long as you warm up everything is fine
nice approach ! great playing!
youre right warming up is really important!
thank you Marcus!
Best!
Mats Hedberg.

I'm really speechless! (that's why nothing came out in the previous post)

Excellent warm-ups, Marcus! Keep up the good work! Blind Guardian FTW!!
if you do lesson 3 i little differently you can make a "N" on the fret board... cool warm up btw, and Bind guardian rocks - im listening to it right now
Hey, I always warmed up, but just did it randomly.
Following this steps of your I can feel the difference it made in my practice session
Sometimes what makes a great lesson is how useful it is, not how impressive it is.
Awesome lesson Marcus! (*ahem* Blind Guardian rules)
Yup, my tuning is E flat, sorry, I forgot to mention this, I am using that tuning since almost 20 years, thats why it is normal for me
cool man and Wolcome to GMC!!
thanx a lot, i really needed a lesson like this
sound advice marcus!
I like these. Thanks Marcus. Glad your here.
Oh.. some of these are really fun to play, I must say:) especially that with sweeps included!..
Gr8:P
Btw. isnt this in E-flat? (if anyone said that already, I overlooked it.. sry..) Just noticed:D
Thats what i want to hear
Hahaha, hey, no need to be sorry for your opinion, after all warming up is not really the most exiting thing to do. I guess this is also the reason why no other instructor made a lesson about this topic so far, they didn't want to bore you But well, it is important to warm up, but don't worry, my next lesson will rock a bit more ;-)
Warm up is usually boring and this lesson is no eception (sorry, but i need to be honest)
BUT, it's nescessary to warm up, as you explain in the video, so i'm very grateful even though i can't say "woooow what a rocking lesson"
- Looking forward to your next lesson(s), and welcome to GmC
Great lesson. I love to see how you show some charisma and enthusiasm about the lesson!

Heya Marcus. Good first lesson. Already using this to warm up now. Thanks.
Great lesson !!
I´m still blown away by the fact that you´re here too teach us
ugh this is BEYOND cool. im such a big fan of blind guardian. i grew up listening to you guys and it was one of the main sounds that really developed my style. i cant WAIT to see all the lessons you make for this wonderful site, marcus
great lesson! i love new warm up ideas!!
Hi Udo, I will stick to english so everybody else can understand my answer too, ok?
The equipment that I used to record this lesson obviously is my Gibson Les paul Custom, equiped with 2 EMG 81 Pickups. The amplifier actually is a software called Guitar Rig 3 (from native instruments) and the camera was a Logitech webcam Fusion :-) If you talk about my live sound, I always use various Gibson Les Pauls, my amps are a Mesa Boogie Tripple Rectifier and a Mesa Boogie Triaxis, the only effects I am using are a Rocktron Intellifex and a Rocktron Xpression

Great first lesson. I have been searching for various warm-up methods for quite a while now.
Thank you!
Hey!! Welcome to GMC, It's really great to have your lessons here!
Hey Kyldeee, it would be awesome if my lesson could help to solve that problem with your hand, make sure you are seriously warmed up before you play.
Marcus! WOOOO!
If you got a mental image of some guy holding a beer close to his chest with his other hand in the air screaming, then good. That's the picture I was trying to paint. I look forward to more lessons (quick turn around on the first one too).
What kind of EMG is that in your LP Custom?
Hi Marcus. Welcome to GMC. This is a good lesson. I'm looking forward to more from you. Thanks!
This is awesome, I've had some problems with my hand, because of not warming up properly, so this is going to be very useful Thanks Marcus and welcome to GMC, can't wait for your next lesson

Video 5 now live and correct - don't miss Marcus' final exercise!
Great first lesson!
Sorry about the video for the 5th exercise, I guess I uploaded exercise 4 twice by accident and I am just fixing this right in this moment :-) Before recording this lesson I was just browsing through all the lessons here on GMC and I realized that nobody talked about warming up yet, so I thought it might be a good idea to have this kind of lessons for guitarists, I am happy you like the lesson :-)

Very smart thinking Marcus - we have warming up lessons for vocals but none for guitar! I also love how your teaching style is fluid with a touch of humour.
Welcome to GMC Marcus - we are glad and honoured you found your way!
