Marcus Lavendell

Hey folks! This is my first lesson here at GMC and I really hope you like it and find it useful. I look forward to your feedback.

I wrote this solo for a song called Winding roads wich is a slow “metal ballad”. It does contain a lot of techniques, and some of them are quite advanced – but far away from impossible!

The main key is e-minor. Though at some places there’s also the pentatonic blues and D-major scale involved. My ambition is to have a kinda' "floating feel" to it, so the notes should be played smooth and with legato. One thing you might find a bit tricky is that there's not many "standard 4,8,16 notes" in some places. So, for example, instead of playing 8 notes per bar, you'll find an odd number such as 9. This makes it more difficult to practise with a metronome, but it helps to add the "floating feel".

Also, I tune down all strings ½ step (to E-flat).
