  • Hi and welcome to my new lesson. String bending is an incredibly crucial part of guitar playing. It allows us to play other notes in a more interesting
    manner instead of just fretting them. It helps to convey emotion also. Choose any top ten list of greatest solos of all time and I guarantee you that there won't be a single entry that doesn't employ string bends in there somewhere.

    So, we've established that string bending is an important part of our language. Now, how do we do it?

    That's why I'm here. I'm going to start you off slowly but you can still expect to be challenged. You're going to be introduced to regular string bends, unison bends, double stop bends and pre-bends.

    Each section includes a spoken word guide but I'll also single out the technical things you need to know in order to develop your bending skills, such as:

    -How to bend using reference notes
    -Hand positions used for bending
    -Using other fingers
    -Adding vibrato to bends
